Fine Diamond Dubbing - Dark Brown
Fine Diamond Dubbing is a synthetic dubbing with beautiful reflections, made up of very fine diameter fibers and flash fibers. Its use is very varied, it is especially ideal to tie nymphs' bodies and collars, but it can also be used to tie wet flies, dry flies, terrestrial flies, hunting flies, sedges and streamers.
There are many examples of their uses, to make spots and collars as seen in the Jig Pt., in the Pt. Spot Red, and in the Nymph Robin. Making the thoraxes, covering the lead wire, as in the White Black and the Pink Pt. Tie thoraxes and bodies of terrestrials such as the Foam Bee or the Eddie's Bugger, where in the latter it is mounted in a buttonhole, in so that during assembly the fibers remain open and intersect between the fibers of rooster feathers. Combining it with foam to tie hunting flies like the Deer Klinkhammer, and with marabou to make streamers like the Cone Head Black. Spider bodies or chests and wet flies like R.T. Special Grayling and Wet Fantasy. For the sedge as in the Goddard Caddis, where you can see a classic example in which the Dark Peacock color perfectly replaces the effect of the natural peacock barbules.
These dubbings are very easy to tie on the hook, they can be fixed to the mounting thread or with dubbing wax, or simply by squeezing them with your fingers. Finally, they can be combed and damaged using the special brush for dubbing, to give even more movement to the fly, imitate paws, or give shape to streamers and imitations of baitfish.
They are excellent both for those approaching the world of fly tying for the first time, and for those who want to tie very fast flies and simultaneously bright and captivating. In fact, with some colors, a couple of turns, and copper wire to act as tinsel, you can tie nymphs such as the Beige Brown, the Jig Brown Black Orange, and the Jig Green Spot Orange. In the latter we see the combination with one of the colors of the Fine Flash Dubbing, also very similar to the Fine Diamond, but with a range of different colors.
They can also be mixed with other natural or synthetic dubbings, as can be seen in the Leaded Peeping Caddis, where the Fine Diamond is mixed with a natural Rabbit Dubbin and a half natural, half synthetic dubbing like the Flash Nymph Dubbing.
The reflections of the Fine Diamond Dubbing are "warm" or rather tending to bronze and pearly, while if you are looking for dubbing with "cold" reflections or tending to purple and blue, the dubbing of the Fine UV Ice Dubbing series is recommended.
