Foam is a buoyant and moldable material, ideal for all flies that require high buoyancy such as dry flies, terrestrials, streamers, and unweighted nymphs. Its uses are truly varied, it can be shaped using scissors, and folded and fixed with the mounting thread. Bodies can be tied by combining it with dubbing, as seen in the Deer Sedge and also in this fly it can also be used as indicator. The indicator can also be tied in reverse for hunting flies such as the Deer Klinkhammer. In flies such as Grasshopper and Eddie's Bugger it is seen used both to make the body and for the round head, in the Foam Bee it is combined with Foam Bee Bodies to tie the body. Extendend bodies of various sizes can be tied as seen in the Mayfly and Dragonfly.
