The Standard 6/0 mounting thread is perfect to tie fly fishing flies such as nymphs, wet flies, dry flies and even small and medium streamers.
Excellent for many dressings and tying patterns, it can be used directly to tie bodies, heads and necklaces, wrap the dubbing in it by pressing it or whipping it with wax as you can see in the Squirmy Worm. Given its resistance, it can also be doubled (using a buttonhole tool) or opened with a pin for buttonhole assemblies by inserting: feathers, dubbing and synthetic fibers. Some examples of dubbed threads and loop mounting can be seen in terrestrial such as Foam Bee and Eddie's Bugger.
Ideal for all those dressings in which you have to pull a lot with the bobbin during the tying steps, such as large dry flies, terrestrial flies, bees, grasshoppers, or having to pull a lot to tie the roe hair as in the sedge. This thread allows you to tie comfortably on all hook sizes from #14 and up, if you need to tie small or extremely small flies for example on hook sizes like #18, #20 and even smaller, it is recommended to use the Standard 8/0 threads which are thinner.
