Standard 8/0 mounting thread is perfect to tie fly fishing flies such as nymphs, wet flies, dry flies and small streamers. It is so thin that it is comparable to a 12/0 and has a high breaking strength. Excellent for many dressings and constructive passages, it can be used directly to tie bodies, heads and spots, wrap the dubbing in it either by squeezing it or mounting it with wax, and given its resistance it can also be doubled (using a buttonhole tool) or open with a pin for buttonhole patterns by inserting: feathers, dubbing and synthetic fibers. This thread allows you to tie flies very easy on all hook sizes and be precise even on the smallest ones like #18, #20 and even smaller. If you need to tie medium and large flies, large dry flies such as terrestrials, bees, grasshoppers, or have to pull a lot to tie the roe fur as in sedge, it is recommended to use Standard 6/0 threads which are slightly larger in diameter and more resistant to tension during tying.
