Tungsten beads are heavy balls that are excellent to tie flies for fly fishing such as nymphs, wet flies, perdigons and streamers, but they can also be used to tie spinfly flies. Their high quality and finish allow a quick sinking of the fly. The slotted version allows you to use them also on Jig hooks (as well as the classic straight and grub), and unlike the flared ones, you have fuller and therefore heavier balls. They can be used to tie classic trout nymphs such as the Black White, the Copper John, and the Robin, or on jig nymphs for barbel fishing such as the Jig Brown Black Orange and the Jig Pt., or to tie imitation worms such as the San Juan Worm. In fluorescent colors they are excellent for contrasting flies as in the Black Orange nymph or the Shad Streamer White Orange. They are also perfect to tie Squirmy Worms. With the different colors and sizes, they adapt to various dressings and patterns. They are normally used to tie nymphs, and through the combination with UV glues, even for perdigons such as the Black Perdigon, but their use is also very convenient in both lake trout streamers and river streamers such as Zonker Brown and streamers with Wiggle Tail as the D.F. Wiggle Streamer. During the tying steps you can increase the weight by adding just behind them a few turns of lead wire on the shank of the hook.
